Newly Built Sheep Shed in Co Tipperary using SVK Neptunus Corrugated Sheets

In 2012 Lorraine and Barry Cahalan, producers of Cáis Na Tíre sheep cheese in Co Tipperary, built a shed to accommodate the ewes over winter. The shed also contains the milking parlour, dairy, meal storage and cheese storage facilities.
They researched many options for sheeting the roof such as cladding, non-drip cladding and fibre cement sheeting. They opted for SVK fibre cement sheeting as it offered a complete non-drip solution plus lower noise levels during heavy rainfall.
“I found SVK very helpful compared to other well known brands. It worked out more cost-effective and I feel we also got a better quality sheet. The sheets are double-pressed making them extra-strong. We tested cut-offs of SVK sheets and we found that, in comparison to other brands, it took a lot more force before breaking. The SVK sheets are also pre-grooved, which greatly reduced the labour of pre-mitring.
“We used 3 ply polycarbonate clear lights. We choose these for safety reasons as they can withstand the weigh of a man, and we are very happy with our choice.
“I would greatly recommend SVK both for the quality of sheeting and the quality of customer service. We will be back to do business with SVK in the future!”
